The Request For Proposal (RFP) process is normally one of the steps involved in the search for an application solution. After the Requirements Definition has been completed a package is constructed which will be sent to a number of vendors who can potentially provide a solution to the business need. A well constructed RFP will include information other than the functional requirements of the application. In fact, a well designed RFP would include as a minimum the following sections: Statement of the business problem the proposed solution needs to address Functional Requirements including sources of input, any special processing requirements, and Technical requirements including interfaces to other applications Infrastructure requirements including servers, firewalls, disaster recovery, security, etc. Training requirements Administrative requirements including format of response, expectation of demos, submission | |
